Early Education Entitlement – Government Funding
We have constructed our Nursery fees and sessions to best support the majority of our families. We offer all-inclusive fee packages and also fully funded places where you can choose to opt out of our fully enhanced services. This is all detailed in our Funding Policy, Provision of Food Policy, Consumables & Activities Policy and our Admissions & Waiting List Policy. If you are unsure about anything then please just come along and ask.
15 hours Universal funding for children age 3+
All parents are entitled to receive government funding for their child the term after their child’s third birthday. There is no eligibility criteria to be met. The statutory maximum entitlement is 15 hours per week over a 38 week period. Happy Days Nursery offers the Funded Education Entitlement to eligible children pro rata over a 50 week period.
Working Parent Funding Entitlement for children aged 9months +
Families of children age 9 months to 4 years that are, or believe themselves to be, eligible, may apply for the working parent entitlement of 30 hours of funding at 15 & 30 hours support | Best Start in Life.
Once parents successfully apply online, they will be given a code, which they then provide to their chosen provider(s) before the start of the term. Parents are required to reconfirm their eligibility every three months.
At Happy Days, we welcome parents using funding on our nursery day session. Funding may be split across different providers so parents can use their maximum entitlement. Happy Days Nursery offers funding to eligible children pro rata over a 50 week period. The Government has stated that working parent funding is only for the provision of early years education and care and is not intended to cover the cost of consumable items, such as drinks, meals, snacks, nappies, our enhanced provision or additional services such as trips and other experiences provided by the nursery.
Two Year Old Funding for Families Receiving Additional Support.
There is also funding available for some two year olds whereby certain criteria need to be met in order to qualify and an application process completed. The statutory maximum entitlement is 15 hours per week over a 38 week period, which is stretched over 50 weeks at Happy Days Nursery. This funding can be used at one provider only. Please enquire with the Manager if you wish to know if your child may qualify.
Early Years Pupil Premium
The aim of the Early Years Pupil Premium is to close the gap between children from disadvantaged backgrounds and other children by providing additional funding to settings such as ours, therefore providing the opportunity to raise the quality of provision we offer.
All children aged three and four (not two year olds), who meet the eligibility criteria will benefit from the funding. This funding is paid directly to us on an hourly rate basis, linked to claimed hours for entitled children. In order to be able to claim this funding we require parents to sign the funding agreement which asks for details of parent’s date of birth and National Insurance number.
Which three-and four-year-olds will be eligible for the EYPP?
A child will be eligible for the EYPP if they:
-
Are in a low-income family and their parents are in receipt of benefits (one or more), for example, Child Tax Credit and Income Support;
- Have been adopted from care;
- Have left care through special guardianship;
- Have been looked after by the local authority for at least the span of one day;
- Are subject to a child arrangement order.
As an Early Years setting we have the freedom to choose how we spend the money to best support disadvantaged children in our care. Our nursery will use the additional funding in the following ways:
-
Continue our commitment to furthering our knowledge within our Continuing Professional Development by attending relevant training.
- Creating ‘Home Learning’ lending bags and packs.
-
Buy in any specialist services to support families and children (this includes the cost of staffing such events), such as, behaviour management, parenting classes and information awareness sessions.
-
Purchasing additional resources and enriching our provision within the outdoor and indoor environment.
-
Provide enrichment activities or experiences such as ‘Living Eggs’, visits or trips, visitors such as storytellers or forest school specialists.
Measuring the impact of the EYPP.
We are continually reviewing the data we collect on children’s attainment and refreshing our strategies to support children who are falling behind or in danger of doing so. The practical ideas that are implemented on a daily basis are only a few of the strategies used to support children.
